# Free the Flares Weekly Contest

## What is Free the Flares?

Every Friday morning on X/Twitter, we host a weekly art challenge where participants can win ⚡10 Flares that are sent to their starbeam.one account. The contest is held in two phases: the Submission Phase and the Vote Phase, both which are described below.

### Submission Phase

During the submission phase, a prompt and theme are provided for the community, where members can participate by submitting their renders for consideration. During this time, members can like and retweet images they like the best. From the submission lot, starbeam.one staff will take the top three candidates in terms of engagement (likes/retweets/comments). While engagement is the primary metric, please note that starbeam.one staff reserves the right to select candidates based on its own internal considerations if submissions have comparable engagement statistics.

### Vote

After candidates are selected, a vote is then created on the following day on Saturday. During this time a post will be made on X/Twitter that highlights the three candidates and allows the community to vote on the favorite. After the vote is completed, the top winner will receive the prize: ⚡10 Flares sent to their starbeam.one account.
